For all the lovers of the original Nobu on Park Lane you are going to love this newbie on the block located in swanky Mayfair - well, actually, where the old Mayfair club used to be. So for all of you who were regulars at the club you will feel at home from the moment you walk in. The clientele is young, trendy and spells out the who’s who of London’s social scene and Tinseltown. On a recent dinner outing we had the pleasure of being invited by one of the biggest LA rock n roll superstars and his entourage and found ourselves sitting next to another madam who you are likely to know from her recent advertising campaign with Accessorize. You are likely to spend most of your night enjoying the eye candy as much as the food. The evening started with cocktails, which were done to perfection, however if you are after an espresso martini be prepared to wait a good 20 min before it arrives. Besides this little mishap the food was amazing - savour the salted giant edamame beans with an aperitif before moving on to a nicely feisty watercress salad and a section of their finest sushi and sashimi. Of course not forgetting warm sake, which perfectly complimented each bite. The staff is rather lovely and sweet and although you are dining among the who’s who of VIP’s it’s interesting to see that there isn’t an inkling of pretensiousness. Be sure to book well in advance as they are packed every night of the week and the atmosphere is always amazing. If you prefer the more informal vibe you can always have your dinner at the downstairs bar where for all you smokers you can light up and enjoy your cigarette after your meal. An amazing restaurant with food and drinks to compliment it. This is definitely a trendy and cool Tramp spot!
