Global Roaming with Tramp's Top Tipple

Goodness! Who would have thought the younger generation would turn their backs on bolly and get jiggy with Grandpa Tramp’s favourite tipple, Brandy? In days of late, adolescent Tramps love the naughty little snifter.

Lapping it up and enjoying the beverage which recently became more fashionable thanks to the exploits of a few artists and celebrities.

Added to these factors is an appreciation for quality and history, a panache that has infested the psyche of today’s young Tramps.
“No longer is Cognac seen only as your grandfather’s after-dinner drink by the fire,” says our expert Citizen T, a connoisseur in all things tipple related. “The traditional mindset about Cognac is changing as discerning tastes of all ages search for quality and experience.”
In association with Tramp, Citizen T embarked on a special journey, commencing in the Bar De Plaza Athenè, Paris. Here within the opulence of French fash-pac clientele, we guzzled down the Remy Red Royale – an iniquitous mix of Remy Red, chilled champagne and fresh tasty berries. Scarlet in colour and sexy in spirit, this cosmopolitan cocktail certainly is a unique brew, positively bursting with the heady flavour of fruits and classic Cognac.
“Remy offers a wide variety of fine moments for all occasions and can fit into many different lifestyles,” Citizen T states as we are miraculously transported to the Asian metropolitan marvel Hong Kong, landing in Central’s Vong restaurant housed at the very top of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
Overlooking the constantly active, brightly lit waterway, he tell us about the next drink, Remy Martin’s V.S.O.P. “This, you could drink with or without food,” he says frankly as we opt for the former. Poured over ice, V.S.O.P. was topped with ginger ale thus creating a smooth and balanced drink packed with the tantalizing flavours of vanilla, liquorice, and hazelnut. It has to be said that this blend was amazing, a superb fusion of sharp and sweet flavours that merged into amber nectar.
Then Citizen T and Tramp flew JK Rowling style across the ocean to Canada, taking a swift lift to the top of the CN Tower in Toronto, arriving almost 2,000 feet above ground level. Needless to say, the view here was as awesome as the Remy Martin V.S Grand Cru poured out. Oh yes, it’s a top dollar drink, this one. After all, Grand Cru is the world’s highest standard of V.S Cognac, with grapes aged to perfection for anything up to 10 years.
In Toronto, Tramp drank this luxury beverage with fresh lemon juice, crushed ice, and Cointreau – needless to say, the taste was thrilling, with hints of apple, pear, peach, and fresh mint, all which left us desperate for more.
But for the piece de resistance, enter the Divine Louis XIII (always pronounced ‘treize’). "A true masterpiece that rests as the jewel in the crown in the world of Cognac" Carefully tended by 3 generations of Remy Martin Cellar Masters, it is a magical combination of savoire-faire, art and patience. It also bears the highest appellation, that of Grande Champagne, with an ageing process counted in decades and without question is the ultimate Cognac. She cannot be mixed with anything and as Citizen T puts it: “It’s not just a drink, it’s a moment.”

And he’s absolutely right. As well as securing itself amongst the youthful Tramp of today, Louis XIII constantly remains reputable in both character and flavour. Bottled in a crystal decanter made by the French crystal work, Baccarat, engraved with 24 – karat gold and topped with a solid crystal stopper in the shape of a fleur-de-lys, this fine spirit is a Tramp smash-hit.

Every drop is made with 100% Crus Grande Champagne and aged from 40-years to over a century. Its sensational aroma of fruits, flowers, spices, and oak wood awakens your soul. The texture is soft and smooth; while the taste hits the instant you put it on your lips, only ending many an hour later.

If you are in London and fancy sipping on this magnificent tasting cognac, why not head down to Zuma where the atmosphere seems to be forever glowing with the coolest people and the odd superstar or billionaire walking around as if he owned the gaff or maybe he could .
